The band formed at the Free State Project's 2023 Porcupine Freedom Festival (PorcFest XX) during evening fireside jams with Keith on guitar, Carol on viola, and Mark on cajon. We entertained Porcupines who stopped by upon hearing our acoustic music. In 2024 we played several shows at PorcFest XXI with Rising Siren on vocals, then with Cindy on vocals played at the Historic First Annual Freedom-Palooza and several private parties.

"Zombie" is a protest song written by Dolores O'Riordan, lead singer of the Irish band The Cranberries. It is about an Irish Republican Army bombing in Warrington, England that killed two children during the Troubles in Northern Ireland, protesting British tyrannical rule, pushing for secession and formation of an independent Republic of Ireland.
Free State Acoustics performs their cover of "Crazy", the hit single by the American soul duo Gnarles Barkley.
